John practices in the areas of real estate and bankruptcy law. He is a Real Property Law Specialist, certified by the Real Property Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. His real estate experience includes representing clients in both residential and commercial real estate acquisitions and sales, refinancing, and the litigation of real property tax assessments.

In the area of bankruptcy law, John serves as a member of the Panel of Private Bankruptcy Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota. In addition to serving as a bankruptcy trustee, John also represents both creditors and debtors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters.

John was raised in Forbes, North Dakota and moved to the Minneapolis area after graduating magna cum laude from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1979. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1982. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
